5 Steps for being Creative

Final year college period of life definition started with placement coaching classes and serious preparations for interviews. I used to hear the words confidence, creativity, ideas, aptitude etc. minimum five times a day. I rechecked myself with these terms of self valuation. I'm confident enough about myself, which makes me in this situation of pride. My friends and classmates used to say 'who on earth is creative than Daivas'. I don't know what miracle from me make them say so. Usually ideas for short films, decorations, program co ordinations, love proposals, break ups, etc. were simply written with my master plan.

Even if I'm very weak in aptitude, I make them believe I'm good at it giving an expression like ' I know the answer but I'm not interested in the quiz' is enough for them to believe I'm good at it. I started thinking about the term creativity and how that evolves. The dominant factors of creativity are usually identified as "the four Ps" —process, product, person and place. In my point of view creativity is been processed with five steps.

1. Gathering knowledge

2. Analyzing

3. Relating

4. Visualizing

5. Working

Before starting with the points, it will be easy to explain these things with an imaginary story where I can transform myself into a hero.

We, with one of my friend, attended a grand function of two days in which we saw a beautiful lady in black wardrobe. Both of us were flattered by her stunning looks and wanted her for a date before the next day ends. My friend started talking with her impressing her with his handsome looks and style. At night while enjoying a beer I collected maximum details about her interests(including her love for lip colors) from him. The next day I saw her attractively beautiful at the buffet corner. I walk straight to her and presented her a pack of lakme special edition lipsticks which surprised her at my introduction. Next I introduced myself and started talking with her including her interests and subjects. I flabbergasted her within an hour or two. And !,;;:::=>><#$%&&-+(()),;:>>< .

This story is an example how I creatively approached her for dating.

1. Gathering knowledge

Knowledge is something we acquire from surroundings mostly from our childhood stories and our observational and exploitative character increases the intensity of gathering knowledge. In the example told above the first step I took was gathering knowledge about her. I collected her interests, weakness etc. that made me get the gift for her. Only knowledge about the subject creates the platform for creative

thinking.

2. Analyzing

Analyzing something is a practiced capability in which someone can acquire it by practice. When relating it with the story I was able to talk with her estimating her character from her costumes and way of responding. I should analyze her character so that I can respond back to her understanding the replay she expects.

The famous character of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock Holmes is a man of age who had the capability of analyzing power. He had extra ordinary analyzing power which directs him towards solutions for every cases as a detective. He analyzes a person estimating age, work, character, state of mind etc. by observing his appearance.

Every creative man should know how to analyze himself for recreating his character. He should study how to analyse his surroundings of wonderful transformations.

3. Relating

In this world nothing is new. Whatever we say new is the beautiful proportions mixed with the timing of situations. If we observe closely we will find the situations, trends, technology and position varies in every movie but emotions are the same; sequences are the same. Likewise relating something with something for creating something new is called a creative effort.

Sir Issac Newton and the apple story is famous because he related it with gravity of earth which directed towards the laws of gravitational force. The cause of everything big is the outcome of relating something small with a greater thought. A week later our placement trainer was saying about the constructional idea for rocket was originated from a type of food named 'kolputtu' where everyone burst to laugh. Relating is very essential and powerful if you can relate something small with a bigger idea.

4. Visualization

Visualization or dreaming in clarity means, a planning for the task performed. Visualizing something in advance increases our confidence for working with the subject. In the story told above that night was my dream zone where I saw myself talking with her. I repeated the dream changing situations or like someone entering between us and then what can I do etc. Even if my friend came between us I m prepared for the way, how to avoid him.

Rhonda Byrne is a great motivational trainer who teaches about the confident lifestyle of achievements. In his book 'The Secret' he teaches how to visualize situations with confidence and without negative thoughts entering our mind. Practicing the same helps in achieving it without much of effort.

5. Working

You will be thinking whether its worth a point to be told, because someone who wants surely works. This point is important because it is based on many supporting factors unlike mind, apart from the remaining points. Working calls for Time, Money, Support, Raw materials and Smartness. I like to think, so I used to show interest in working with the above four. But sometimes money resists, sometimes time, and some other time I feel myself a tad lazy to work. If we avoid laziness and making other needed things available, it will be fun to work as visualized.

I believe creativity is nothing more than this. If you are lucky enough with the situations it can bring you a great fortune.
